Escaping Alpha - Finally!

The biggest issue with the previous versions of S+C was that the players would not draw ‘first blood’. They would tend to ‘turtle’ or ‘wait for the perfect time’ since they’ve invested so much into building their armies. To address this, I added a light narrative of “Good vs Evil”, gave bonuses for capturing buildings and introduced a ‘quick build’ phase.

It worked!

This version has been playtested six times to date. Not a single player turtled AND there was conflict immediately.

So, after almost five years of development, the core mechanics of Storm + Conquer can finally be locked!!!
